A pencil view of ‘Trincomalie' [Trincomalee], Sri Lanka
A very rough version of the final watercolour, which is preserved in volume CRJ/13. In his retirement, Cree set himself the task of copying his rough journals and adding watercolours to appropriate points of the narrative, with the aim of presenting his grandchildren with a record of his service.
