'Outline of a plan for improving the structure and stowage of the holds of His Majesty's Ships; and affording the means of preserving them in many cases of great danger'
Published in 1811 by T. Bensley, Bolt Court, Fleet Street. With eight figures on four plates. The book has manuscript additions, including two appendices, one on the application of steam to warships written in 1816. Pasted in the back cover is a copy of a letter from Vice Admiral Edward Pellew to George Pocock in 1812 praising both George's painting of the wreck of the DUTTON (see PAH8439 in the Collections Catalogue) and William Pocock's book. One of the manuscript additions in the body of the text considers drunkenness on ships.
