In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Have written to Sir Richard Beach to cause the DREADNOUGHT (sent back by Admiral Herbert to Portsmouth by reason of poor sea keeping) to be laid up and his company turned over to the MONTAGUE, if fit for Channel service and her sheathing not begun.
If her sheathing has begun which will render her unfit for service, have asked Sir Richard Beach to inform what ship of her Rate in Portsmouth can soon be got ready in her place.
Whereas we are paying off Seamen turned over from ships laid up into the WARSPITE and HENRIETTA, direct you to appoint one of your Board (for whom we have ordered the KATHERINE Yacht to attend for this service) to go where the ships are to comptroll the said pay.
