In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Fireships THOMAS AND ELIZABETH and FOX are in poor condition and are to be laid up at Deptford and paid off. The hired ship ARCHANGEL is to be victualled at Spithead for an eight month cruise to New York and to receive Boatswains' and Carpenters' stores in proportion. The three Advice Boats previously ordered to be held ready at Plymouth, Biddeford and Milford are to be discharged. The ROYAL JAMES at Portsmouth is to be careened and graved as soon as convenient. The ADVENTURE rebuilding at Chatham is to have the number of ports per Fire [side?] reduced and enlarged.
