Document signed by James Southerne, Secretary to the Admiralty, fl. 1690-1694
Captain Carter has reported on the present condition of the VANGUARD run ashore in Sandwich Bay. He immediately sent Edward Gregory to obtain assistance from the Master Attendant and (illegible) Shipwright's Assistant at Chatham. Advice is sought as to whether Mr Dummer should be sent to advise on the need to carry out a survey.
