Thomas Hopkins, a Seamen belonging to the CORNWALL, who on the 23rd of April last had the misfortune to kill a Seaman that resisted him upon his endeavouring to imprest him to serve in his ship, was tried and acquitted at Dorchester in August last.
He has petitioned this Board, that in consideration of the charge and hardship he laboured under during his imprisonment, he may be borne in Pay on board the said Ship from the time he was discharged from her to that of his returning again on the 16th of this month.
We direct that you cause him to be continued in Pay for that time accordingly.
