In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Rulers and Overseers of the Company of Watermen have by their Petition complained to this Board that the Wages due to the Servants of the Watermen serving in their Majesties Ships have been lately refused to be paid to such persons as they have interested to receive the same, contrary to the usual practice of the Navy.
Direct you to cause the former practice of the Navy in these cases to be observed, provided the said Servants indentures be always produced, not only to show their Right thereto, but for the better enabling you to qualify the Servants according to the Rules and practice of the Navy.
