In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Her Majesty has signified her pleasure to the Board by Sir John Trenchard, Principal Secretary of State, that an account be laid before her of how the orders issued for victualling the Main Fleet for this years' Service has been complied with.
This Board having given orders at the beginning of the year, that the ships of the Main Fleet should be victualled with four months dry Provisions and with eight weeks Beer to the 1st and 2nd Rates, and ten weeks to the 3rd Rates, and that the rest of the Beer to make up the proportion equal to the dry provisions should be sent along with the Fleet in Victualling ships; and also by an order of April 13th last directed, that such ships of the main Fleet as had spent any of their Sea Provisions should be forthwith recruited therewith, that so they might go to sea with the full Proportion ordered them.
We direct you to order the Victualling Commissioners to present to this Board of how the said Orders for victualling the Fleet were complied with by them, and at what time for our laying the same before her Majesty.
