In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Captain Philips and Captain Benbow have proposed that the four Bomb vessels now going to Sea should be fitted with Pole Foremasts instead of the Foremasts they now have, for better performance.
Direct you to cause the Bomb vessels to be supplied with Polo Foremasts accordingly, to be got ready for them at Portsmouth until their arrival at Spithead, and then immediately fixed in them.
They should also be furnished with any other necessaries which Captain Benbow thinks fitting, according to our late orders.
