In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Proposals of several Merchants have been transmitted to us from the Lords of the Committee for Trade and Plantations. They state that they would be able to furnish their Majesties from New Jersey and Pennsylvania with Masts for Ships of all sorts, good Oaken Knees and Planks, Pitch, Tar, Rosin, Hemp and Flax, at as reasonable Rates as they can be furnished from elsewhere.
Are sending a Copy of these Proposals and direct you to consider and report your opinion on the several particulars contained in these Proposals, and of what advantage there may be in furnishing the said Naval Stores from these places
