In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Since you attended them this evening the Commissioners have considered the great want of money to carry on the service of their Majesties Navy, which will require considerable sums for the contracts for hemp and paying bills for stores and works performed. Also the payment of tickets and payment of the yards at Deptford, Woolwich and Portsmouth and for victualling of the Navy. You are directed to prepare an account of what is due and what will be necessary for these services and in what time and proportions the same must be paid so that the Treasury may know and also what money is needed for the transportation of the army for Ireland.
