Daguerreotype by Claudet showing a portrait of Harrison holding a medal.
We can date the image between 1847 and 1850. Claudet opened the Colosseum studio in 1847 and then closed it and the one in King William St in 1851 to open a new studio. However, the 1850 expedition did not get back from the Arctic until later in 1851 to be refitted in October 1851-April 1852 ready for the next voyage out. Thus this shows him as a clerk taken before the 1850 Arctic expedition.
