In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We direct you to cause the Officers and Companies of the Ships and Vessels now in Pay to be paid their Wages to the 30th September last, dispatching first the First, Second and Third Rates, and then proceeding with the rest as opportunity arises as they come into Port.
You are to begin this Pay by the 20th January next at the latest, and to solicit the Treasury for timely supply of Money to carry on the same, and giving Public Notice of the beginning of the Pay so that the Seamen may go timely on board their respective Ships. .
