In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Upon consideration of your letter of the 20th inst; concerning a Merchant Ship called the TEMPLETHORNE we direct you to agree with her Owners for hiring her to serve as a Man of War of the 4th Rate on the best terms you can. Having detailed in your opinion the number of men and guns she can carry, we direct you to establish her accordingly, fitted out for sea by her Owners for service in the Channel, and victualled for four months.
