In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We direct you to cause to be imprest to the respective Captains of the Ships appointed to serve in the Fleet next Summer the several sums of money hereunder mentioned, to be employed in procuring Men, viz
First Rates…..Eighty pounds
Second Rates….Sixty five pounds
Third Rates....Fifty pounds
Fourth Rates....Forty pounds
You are to cause such Ships of the First and Second Rates to be allowed three Tenders, and each Third Rate two Tenders, till such time as the Fleet is Manned.
We direct you also to cause a fitting quantity of Slop Clothes to be sent on board each Ship by the latter end of January next, and that they be furnished with more Cloth Coats, and more and better Beds.
