In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Informing that Captain Fairfax has been appointed to the RUBY but has been prevented from taking up his post by being sent on a recruiting mission to the North; and directing that despite circumstances he is to be entered on the ships books as having joined from the date of his commission. The RUPERT is to be supplied with tenders for recruiting purposes similar to other Third Rate vessels.
