In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

The Navy Board has purchased a vessel from Sir Henry Johnson and has recommended that it should serve as a Fireship. They have named it the BLAZE and have given their opinion as to the size of crew required and the number and type of guns to be put aboard. The name is approved as is the establishment and armament; and instructions are given that she should be entered on the list of the Royal Navy without delay.
