In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We have considered the proposal made by Mr Taylor, received in your letter of the 7th inst; for building a ship of the sixth Rate in New England, and to deliver her here. We direct you to agree with him for building such a Ship of the Dimensions and Draught provided by your Board, and to bring her over and deliver her at his own Charge.
She is to be valued for payment by an independent Person at the time of delivery.
We further direct you to cause the Fireship EAGLE, (which was considered unserviceable some time ago), to be sunk at Sheerness for preventing the Sea breaking in upon the Graving Place there, as you proposed in your letter of the 6th inst; to this Board.
