In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Informing that as a result of an Order in Council of the Twenty-second of January this year the pay of senior officers and lieutenants is to be increased and that certain ranks are to receive half pay when in service but ashore. The Navy Board is also to review the grades of resident officers appointed to the ports mentioned in the Order and is to enable Admirals and Commissioners charged with executing the Order in relation to the reasons for ships entering and leaving the various ports together with their state of repair and readiness for service. A copy of the Order is enclosed.
