Document signed by Sir John Lowther, Admiralty Commissioner, bap.1642-1706 and Henry Priestman, Admiralty Commissioner, 1647-1712
By an Order in Council date 1693/4-03-01 six months dry provisions of victuals are to be found for five hundred men stationed in Jersey and Guernsey respectively. The provisions are to consist of biscuit, cheshire cheese and salt in proportionate amounts as for seamen. The stores are to be delivered to the Storekeepers of the Castles of the islands and are to be used and changed as required.
