In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Captain Tollemache, Commander of the JERSEY, in his letter of 28 March, advised us that the ship, on passage to the West Indies, had lost her mainmast and received other damage. She is incapable of proceeding and he is bringing her to Portsmouth You are directed to have the ship refitted as soon as possible to enable her to proceed on her voyage.
