In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

This Board has been informed that some Commanders and other officers, often obtain from their Majesties yards, works and stores not allowed by the rules of the Navy. To prevent this in future, you are directed to order the officers of the several yards not to permit any work to be performed, nor to supply any stores or greater quantities than what is allowed by the rules of the Navy, until they receive an order in writing under the hands of three or more of your Board.
