In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You are directed to have a survey taken of the small privateer lately taken by the FORESIGHT and which is now at Portsmouth. You are to give your opinion as to whether she is fit to be employed as a man-of-war and if so, what number of men and number and nature of guns you judge proper for her. You are to give us an account of the condition of the vessel as to her tackle, apparel, furniture and stores.
