In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
In your letter of 19 April to our Secretary, you advise that the new 5th Rate frigate building at Portsmouth, will be ready to launch next spring. You are directed to have her launched accordingly and fitted out with all dispatch for service in the Channel. She is to be manned with the complement appointed for her and victualled for 3 months. The ship is to be named the PORTSMOUTH.
