In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You are directed to have the SWALLOW cleaned and refitted at Portsmouth for service in the Channel and furnished with 4 months provisions. In case the ship does not arrive in time at Portsmouth to have the present spring in the dock, or on the graving place, you are to have her careened to save time. You are to send directions to Portsmouth by this night's post.
