John Zeal Senior, Purser of the SWIFTSURE, has requested that he may have leave to act by deputy during the ship's present voyage by reason of sickness. We have appointed John Zeal Junior to be Deputy Purser of the ship during the voyage. You are directed to enter him accordingly for the present voyage but no longer. His warrant is to be dated 20 May 1690.
