In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
There having been two lieutenants appointed to the ESSEX hired ship, before the arrival of the NORTHUMBERLAND at Spithead, which ship's company is to be turned over to the ESSEX, you are directed not to turn over the lieutenants of the NORTHUMBERLAND. You are also directed to pay the wages of the officers and company of the KATHERINE yacht, to 1 August 1689. The new fireships and place of building are named as follows: Shoreham - HOPEWELL, FOX; Deptford - VULTURE, WOLF; Globe stairs - HUNTER; Red..ith - GRIFFIN; Wapping - HAWKE, ROEBUCK; Limehouse - HOUND.
