In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Having long solicited for the money due to us for hemp sold last May, we propose that if we may have £15,000 of the money appropriated to be paid to us, we are willing to advance £35,000 more by way of a loan on the appropriation, upon condition that the money advanced by us shall be immediately applied to bills as they stand in the list made out by the Commissioners of the Navy. We pray that your Lordships will direct the Commissioners of the Navy to allow us interest from the time of delivery of our hemp to the payment of our bills. Signed William Gore; Joseph Marding; Nathaniel Gould; Gilbert Heathcott, Hemp Merchants.
