Document signed by James Southerne, Secretary to the Admiralty, fl. 1690-1694.
Thank you for the advice you gave me yesterday about the readiness of the PROVIDENCE hoy, whose commander had orders to sail to the northward and cruise off Blakney, Wells and Burnham, to secure the trade thereabouts. Their Lordships desire you to let them know what you have done about lodging stores at Liverpool for ships in the Irish Sea, pursuant to their orders. Also, inform me whether the boat directed for Captain Akerman is gone, and if not, when it will be ready.
