Document signed by James Southerne, Secretary to the Admiralty, fl. 1690-1694.

Rear Admiral Delaval, in his letter of 14 May from Spithead, advises us that there is a great want of beer at Portsmouth, and we send you an extract of his letter so that you may give direction as to what is to be done. Mr Kirke, Lieutenant of the SUFFOLK in the Downes, advises that he has not above 4 days of provisions and you are directed to give order to the Commissioners of the Victualling to hasten provisions to the ship.
