Document signed by James Southerne, Secretary to the Admiralty, fl. 1690-1694.
The KATHERINE, MARY and KITCHEN yachts being ordered to the Downes, you are directed to send orders the officers at the Deptford yard to dispatch anything wanting so they may not loose time in sailing. Yesterday a letter from the Commander of the SWEEPSTAKES dated 12 April, states that the ship stays only for 16 tons of provisions and that which they most want is pease and oatmeal. You are directed to have the Victualling Office send immediately provisions for that ship so that she is no longer detained.
