Document signed by James Southerne, Secretary to the Admiralty, fl. 1690-1694

The Marshal of the Admiralty has received orders to detain two men whose names are given as John Gaskin and William Yelling who were pressed into service in the Yard at Woolwich but have not appeared. However, the Marshall has reported that two men - John [Jackett] and William Keeling - are at work in Mr Castle's Yard at Deptford and that if they are one and the same as the two first named, he may be given authority to arrest them in their correct names.
