Document signed by James Southerne, Secretary to the Admiralty, fl. 1690-1694

The SCARBOROUGH and JERSEY have been detailed as convoys to Norway and the CHARLES Galley and SHOREHAM to Gothenburg. The three first have been ordered to proceed to the Nore urgently where the Flag Officer presiding has been instructed to supply them with crew. The SHOREHAM has been ordered to convoy some vessels from the Nore to the Downs and, without anchoring, to return immediately to the Nore. Pilots are to be supplied accordingly. Some estimates are returned.
