In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We have received advice from Mr Povey, Secretary tio the Committee for Trade and Plantations, that 340 men intended to be sent to the New World, cannot proceed to the convoy now going to New England. You are directed to provide shipping for those soldiers who are directed to proceed to New York, the rest to remain until the next convoy. Mr Heathcott, the agent for the New York companies, is to attend your Board to give an account of how many soldiers are ready to embark. Ships are to be victualled in the same manner and proportion as was provided for the two companies of foot sent to New York in January 1689 and you are to solicit the Treasury for money to pay this freight.
