In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You have advised us in your letter of 1 June, that pursuant to our orders you have examined the accounts of Samuel Jones, Master of the JOSIAH MERCHANT, of his demands for victualling in bringing home the MORDANT's men from the West Indies, the ship having been cast away there. You conceive it reasonable to allow him the sum of £452.13.4 [detailed breakdown given] for this service, he having produced certificates from Captain Maynard and his officers. We direct that this sum be paid to Samuel Jones.
