In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The widow of Samuel Pennial, last Lieutenant of the MONMOUTH and formerly in the ST MICHAEL, who was blown up in a French fireship last summer off the coast of Portugal, has petitioned praying that her husband's wages may be paid him for his service in the ST MICHAEL. Notwithstanding that she cannot produce his journal kept in that ship, which she alleges was lost in the MONMOUTH, we direct that the wages be paid.
