In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

In pusuance of the Queen's pleasure signified to this Board by Sir John Trenchard, you are directed to have the short allowance money for the squadron of ships named in the margin of this letter (BRITANNIA and 49 other named ships) which are lately gone to the Straits under the command of Admiral Russell. The sum of £20,000 sent for beverage and contingent uses to Admiral Russell and to be divided, part at Cadiz, part at Alicante and part at Genoa. Also, you are to give directions for victualling for 2 months dry provisions at whole allowance for a freight sqadron and send this with all possible expedition to Cadiz Bay in merchant ships taken up for transporting.
