In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The hired ship the BASING galley has been ordered to convey some ordnance vessels from Rye and Pevensey to the River Thames and then to return to Rye. You are directed to have this ship cleaned upon her arrival there at the charge of her owners, but if they should be unwilling to do this you are to order Mr Mannock, Muster Master at that port to have her cleaned at the King's charge and to deduct this from the owner's freight charge.
