In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Admiral of the Blue Squadron has advised us that the GREENWICH at Portsmouth is very crazy [bad condition] and you are directed to have a survey taken of her defects and to report to this Board whether she is unfitting to keep the sea and the time it will take to refit her. Mr Hughes, Lieutenant of the IPSWICH, also informs us that the smiths work on that ship goes very slowly and there are several other works to be done. A copy of his letter comes enclosed and we direct you to have this work dispatched with all speed.
