In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
In pursuance of Her Majesty's pleasure, signified by the Rt. Hon. Sir John Trenchard, their Majesties' Principal Secretary of State, you are directed to have the three machine vessels the CROWNED HERRING and TRUMPET at Portsmouth and the WHITEPORT at Deptford which did not sail with the main fleet, repaired and put in condition for sea.You are also directed to order one of the tenders of about 60 tons at Portsmouth, to take in and load the machines with their appurtenances and what is belonging to them in the storehouse at Portsmouth under the charge of Mr Felton, and to bring them in to the River Thames.
