In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We refer this paper to you to examine the matter therein and to give Thomas Bass such relief as the rules and practice of the Navy allow, and if there is anything extraordinary to report to this Board your opinion of what is fitting to be done. [Letter to the Admiralty Board from Thomas Bass] - I am warranted Master Carpenter of the LONDON MERCHANT and notwithstanding this they refuse to pay me at the Pay Office any more than seamen's pay. I write to your Hon. Board that your Lordships should do me right and that my wife, the bearer, should be admitted before your Lordships to know your pleasure.
