In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

William Parker, late Master of the SANDWICH, by reason of age and infirmity is incapable of officiating in his employment and we have thought it fitting to discharge him. It appears by your report dated 23 June that he has served as Master between 9 and 10 years, which is more than the time limited for service of such officers to be superannuated by the Establishment made by His Majesty's Order in Council dated 11 December 1690. You are directed to settle a pension on him during his natural life equal to the wages and known allowances for a Master of a second rate, to commence from the time he was discharged from the SANDWICH. You are to sign bills quarterly on the Treasurer of the Navy for paying this pension.
