In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Lord Berkeley has reported that the DEFIANCE having been surveyed is not seaworthy. A report of her defects is called for together with an estimate of the time required to restore her provided she can actually be saved. Enquiries are made regarding the availability of stores to be sent in Freighters to the Straits as word has it that Victuallers going there are ready to sail.
