In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
There are several Men on-board their Majesties' Ships in the Downs who have been lent from the great Ships at the Nore and River Medway. We have ordered Sir Cloudesley Shovell to direct them to be borne on the Ships they now belong to as part of their Companies, and order their respective Commanders to send Regular and Perfect Lists to your Board of their Entries etc; and the names of the Ships from which they were lent in order to their being paid.
We direct you to cause these men to be paid the Wages due to them in the last Ships from which they were lent.
We are hastening to you the former Lists of the Men turned over from the Ships at the Nore, that they be likewise paid according to our Orders to you of the 8th of this month.
