In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Navy Board has copied a letter received from the Commissioners for Victualling to the Admiralty in which they enquire what credits should be sent to the Fleet commanded by Admiral Russell for paying the seamen their short allowance money and which ships should be preferred where victualling is concerned. Instructions are given that credits are to be allowed for the complete range of specie already sent or to be sent to the Straits. The process of victualling ships whether at home or abroad is to be treated with urgency and Orders to that effect are to be passed on to the Commissioners for Victualling.
