In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

The Navy Board has advised the Admiralty that the new Hulk at Chatham is in process of being launched and that it is being fitted for service the same as the old one, the ARMS of HORN, currently at Sheerness. But that ship has been reported as near to sinking and as a consequence the Navy Board has written to Sir Edmund Gregory asking for the LEOPARD Hulk to be sent down from Chatham to take her place. It is now agreed that the ARMS of HORN shall be sunk, the better to protect the Dock and Graving place. She may also serve as a store of reed bavins and other materials required for cleaning ships' hulls.
