In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
An Estimate of the Charge of the Navy for 1694 is required under the following heads:
- Wages, victuals, wear & tear, and ordnance stores for 40,000 men, serving in their Majesties' ships, at sea, for 13 months;
- Freight, victuals, and wages of 30 Hired Ketches for 9 months;
- Freight, victuals and wages of 5 Hired Hospital Ships for 13 months;
- The charge of the Ordinary Estimate;
- The charge of the Officers of the 2 Marine Regiments;
- Hulks and Storeships ordered to the Straits;
- Transporting 1,000 Marines to the Mediterranean;
- Transporting victuals to the Mediterranean;
- Transporting ordnance stores to the Mediterranean;
- Supplement to the charge of the new dockyards at Portsmouth and Plymouth;
- Building and fitting-out 8 Bomb Vessels;
- Ditto for twelve 4th-Rates of 50 guns each.
