In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Following an enquiry held at the Admiralty yesterday, it has been decided that Robert Barnett, Master Ropemaker at Portsmouth, shall be discharged in consequence of his failing to attend to his duties; this having led to inferior rope being produced and material being wasted. The names of any suitable candidates to replace him are to be submitted together and steps taken to redress the effects of Barnett's neglect.
