In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Captain Thomas Ekins, late Commander of the SEA FLOWER, has sent a letter to this Board offering the purchase of a new Ship similar to the CROWN or HAMPSHIRE, very cheap.
We are sending a Copy of his letter and direct you to send for him, ask where the Ship is, and cause a survey to be taken of her, making a report of her condition to serve as a Man of War, and on what terms she can be procured.
Also you are to order a survey to be taken of the MONCK at Spithead and give an account to this Board of her condition, and how long in your opinion will it take to refit her.
