In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We understand from your letter of the 5th inst; that notwithstanding our late Orders for hiring or buying five Machine vessels, Sir Martin Bockman expects only four, having no more large Machines, and that the SEAHORSE and the GREYHOUND DOGGER, lately employed in the same service, are agreed to go again on the same terms.
We direct you to cause the two Vessels to be fitted out to Sea, manned with the number of Men formerly established on them, and victualled for three months with all possible dispatch.
You are to hire only two more vessels for Machines, notwithstanding any former orders to the contrary.
